Assessment
Structure 2022-23

  • The Academic Year is divided into two terms: –

Term-I: April 2022 to September 2022

Term-II: October 2022 to March 2023.

  • Students are assessed in scholastic & co-scholastic areas continuously and comprehensively throughout the year on the basis of day-to-day activities/assignments and observations. Observations are made periodically by the teachers for academic work, behaviour, attitude, classroom activities, interaction & participation in the class. A record of all the work done is maintained on regular basis and a comprehensive progress report is given to parents at the end of the year.
  • Along with written tests, oral assessments are taken regularly in each subject.
  • Diverse tools and modes of assessment are used.
  • Punctuality and Regularity of students are acknowledged.
  • Timely submission of assignments and activities is expected.
  • Only standardized question papers are delivered in all assessments (UTs, Term exams)
  • Questions will be Competency Based Questions which include MCQs, case-based questions, source based integrated questions, application based along with short answer and long answer type questions etc.
  • Students will be assessed for co-scholastic areas on 3-point grading scale (A, B & C) or using descriptive indicators.
  • Student must secure 33% marks in each subject to pass.
  • It is mandatory to have at least 75% attendance to appear in Annual Exam.

Term – I & Final Term – Term I & Final Term are to be conducted for 60/80 marks. 60/80 marks will be scaled down to 30 marks.

*Subject Enrichment Activities Subject Enrichment activities provide in-depth learning that motivates students to dig deeper into a specific topic.

  • Subject Enrichment Activities are taken up once in a term in all subjects
  • For Languages: ALS/Dictation/Debate/Reading
  • For Science: Lab activities/Experimentation/Observations/Model making etc.
  • For Mathematics: Lab activities/Hands on activities
  • For Social Science: Map work/Project/Field Trip etc.
  • Type of test – Competency based
  • Term-II subject enrichment activity is a Research based Art Integrated Multidisciplinary Project.

**Multiple Assessment: –

  • Multiple assessment activities are taken up regularly in all subjects. Any one activity, in which the student has performed the best is added in term result.
  • Various activities like Assignments, Quiz, MCQ, PPT, Map Work, project Work, Oral Assessment, etc. are conducted throughout the session.

Portfolio: –

  • To be graded continuously.
  • Rubrics for Notebook submission will be: –
  • Regularity & Punctuality – 1 mark
  • Neatness – 1 mark
  • Presentation – 1 mark
  • Correctness & Accuracy – 1 mark
  • Content & Creativity – 1 mark

PT I, II & III – PT I & PT III are conducted for 20 marks, and PT II is conducted for 80 marks, which is scaled down to 5 marks. Best 2 out of 3 are then added in Internal Assessment.

Annual Examination – to be conducted for 80 marks.

  • For class X CBSE board will conduct the Annual examination in the month of February/March. Internal assessment marks would be provided to Board as per their guidelines.

SENIOR SECONDARY CLASSES: XI-XII
